Un intérieur usé fait perdre de la valeur à votre voiture et donne l'impression que chaque trajet est vieux. Vous n'avez pas besoin d'acheter un nouveau banc ni de vivre avec du ruban adhésif sur une déchirure. La plupart des dommages peuvent être réparés pour se fondre proprement.

Des coutures ouvertes le long d'un renfort latéral du siège, un banc du conducteur usé à force de monter et descendre, des trous de brûlure dans le tissu, du cuir fissuré sur un volant ou un accoudoir. Des panneaux de porte déchirés, des consoles centrales usées, du tapis éraflé. Ce sont les travaux qui entrent à l'atelier chaque semaine, et la plupart repartent avec un aspect proche de l'usine.

On travaille le cuir, le vinyle, le tissu, les tapis, les ciels de toit et les tableaux de bord. Si c'est à l'intérieur de votre voiture et que c'est endommagé, envoyez-nous une photo et on vous dira honnêtement ce qu'il faut pour le réparer.

Réparation et recoloration du cuir

Un panneau de cuir fissuré ou éraflé ne veut pas dire que tout le banc est fini. La plupart du temps, on répare le panneau endommagé et on fait la recoloration du cuir pour l'assortir au reste, au lieu de remplacer la housse de siège au complet.

On assortit la couleur et le grain de votre cuir d'origine pour que la réparation se fonde plutôt que de ressortir. Les teintures et composés qu'on utilise sont faits pour les intérieurs automobiles, ce qui veut dire qu'ils fléchissent avec le cuir et résistent à la chaleur et au soleil sans fissurer ni peler comme un kit de réparation générique.

Réparer un panneau coûte une fraction du prix d'un rembourrage complet, et sur la plupart des voitures quotidiennes, vous auriez de la difficulté à trouver la différence. Quand regarnir est vraiment le meilleur choix, on vous le dit avant de commencer.

Ciel de toit, garnitures et tapis

Le ciel de toit affaissé, c'est le travail le plus courant qu'on voit. Le tissu tombe et vous touche la tête parce que la mousse de support a lâché, pas parce que le tissu est usé. Recoller l'ancien tissu ne tient jamais. On dégage l'ancien tissu et la mousse et on remplace le ciel de toit correctement, pour qu'il tienne des années.

Au-delà des ciels de toit, on répare les panneaux de porte, les garnitures de montants, les soufflets de levier de vitesses et les volants. Le tapis usé est patché ou remplacé là où le talon du conducteur a frotté au travers. Les accoudoirs et consoles centrales sont reconstruits ou regarnis au lieu d'être jetés.

Si un panneau de garniture grince, est fané ou se défait aux coutures, il peut presque toujours être sauvé pour moins que le prix d'un neuf chez le concessionnaire.

Réparer ou refaire à neuf ?

Un panneau endommagé veut presque toujours dire une réparation. Une déchirure, un trou de brûlure, un renfort latéral fissuré, un panneau de porte éraflé, un ciel de toit affaissé, ce sont toutes des réparations, et une réparation est le chemin le moins cher et le plus rapide.

Refaire le rembourrage du banc au complet est le meilleur choix quand plusieurs panneaux lâchent, que la mousse est devenue molle ou affaissée, ou que le cuir est tellement sec sur tout le banc qu'une réparation ponctuelle ressortirait. Dans ce cas, regarnir vous donne un banc qui a l'air et le sentiment du neuf.

La réponse honnête, c'est : on regarde le dommage et on vous dit lequel a du sens. On ne vous vend pas un rembourrage complet quand une réparation suffit, et on ne patche pas quelque chose qui va seulement lâcher encore l'année prochaine.
